Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: email address and password hash (managed by our authentication provider) when you create a ClipTier account.
- Source content: video files you upload and URLs you import from third-party platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook).
- Generated content: short clips, transcripts, captions, and metadata produced by our processing pipeline.
- Social account connections: when you connect a YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok account, we receive and store OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens, the connected channel/page identifier, channel name, and avatar URL. We do not receive or store your platform passwords.
- Google Sheets content: when you connect a Google Sheet for auto-posting, our service account reads the cells you make available (typically source URLs and posting status). We do not access other Sheets or Drive content.
- Usage information: log data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, used for security and performance.
- Billing information: when you purchase credits, payment is processed by a PCI-compliant payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and improve the Service.
- To process source videos through our pipeline (face detection, transcription, and virality analysis using third-party AI services).
- To publish clips to your connected social accounts when you enable an automation, using the OAuth tokens you provided.
- To read source URLs and write status updates to Google Sheets you have explicitly shared with our service account.
- To send transactional emails (account verification, billing, errors).
- To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Google API Services User Data Policy
ClipTier's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We use access to your YouTube account only to upload Shorts you have requested via an active automation, and to read your channel name and avatar for display in the ClipTier dashboard.
- We use access to your Google Sheets only to read the source URLs you place in the sheet you have shared with our service account, and to update status cells in that same sheet.
- We do not sell, transfer, or use Google user data for advertising, credit evaluations, or any purpose other than providing or improving user-facing features that are prominent in the Service.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data, except (a) with your explicit consent, (b) for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), (c) to comply with applicable law, or (d) where the data is aggregated and used for internal operations and is impossible to associate with a specific user.
5. Meta Platform Data (Facebook, Instagram)
When you connect a Facebook Page or Instagram Business/Creator account, we use your authorization only to publish Reels you have requested via an active automation and to display your page/account name and avatar in the ClipTier dashboard. We comply with Meta's Platform Terms and Developer Policies. We do not transfer or sell this data to third parties.
6. TikTok Data
When you connect a TikTok account, we use your authorization only to publish videos via TikTok's Content Posting API in accordance with your automation settings. We comply with TikTok's Developer Terms of Service and do not transfer or sell this data to third parties.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the Service, and only as needed for the following purposes:
- Cloud infrastructure: hosting, storage, processing, and authentication providers that run our application and store user data.
- AI and media processing: services that perform speech transcription, content analysis, and other automated processing on your source videos.
- Payment processing: a PCI-compliant payment provider that handles subscription and credit purchases. We do not store full card numbers.
- Publishing destinations: the social platforms you have explicitly connected (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok), to deliver clips you have scheduled.
- Source platforms: when you import a video by URL, we send requests to that platform's servers (e.g., YouTube, TikTok) to retrieve the source content.
- Legal obligations: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights and the safety of users.
All providers we use are bound by contractual obligations to handle your data only for the purposes we authorize. A current list of subprocessors is available on request — email hello@cliptier.com.
8. Data Storage and Security
All user data, OAuth tokens, and generated clips are stored in cloud infrastructure located in the United States. OAuth tokens are stored encrypted at rest. Communication between your browser and ClipTier is encrypted in transit using TLS. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized engineers and is logged and audited.
No system is perfectly secure. While we use industry-standard safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@cliptier.com or by disconnecting individual social connections from the Connections page in the dashboard. When you disconnect a social account, we delete the stored OAuth tokens for that account immediately. When you delete your ClipTier account, we delete your uploaded videos, generated clips, and connection records within 30 days.
You can also revoke ClipTier's access from the source platform itself: for Google, myaccount.google.com/permissions; for Meta, Business Integrations settings; for TikTok, your account's authorized apps page.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to data portability; and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email hello@cliptier.com.
